This course aims to develop learners’ skills in basic mathematics. It covers concepts of addition and subtraction, place value, and comparing and ordering numbers up to 200. It also introduces number patterns, data, and graphs. In addition, the training focuses on building skills in adding tens and ones and using place value to add two-digit numbers, reinforcing understanding through a variety of activities and applications.

What will i learn?

• By the end of this course/training, students will be able to: Estimate, calculate, and solve problems involving the addition and subtraction of two-digit and three-digit numbers. Use the “make a ten” strategy to help add 7, 8, and 9. Add three numbers using the associative property. Apply the part–part–whole model to addition and subtraction. Understand and use the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction. Write appropriate number sentences to solve problems. Collect and record data using tally marks, picture graphs, and bar graphs. Read, represent, analyze, and compare data using different types of graphs. Find the range and mode of a data set and use data to solve problems. Count, read, and write whole numbers and identify the place value of each digit. Represent numbers up to 200 using models and write them in expanded form. Regroup ones to make tens and understand its role in addition. Represent numbers in multiple forms (words, models, and expanded form). Use number patterns to solve problems. Order and compare whole numbers up to 200 using symbols and place value. Round numbers to the nearest ten. Identify even and odd numbers and explore related patterns. Use a hundred chart to count by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Use basic facts and mental math to add tens. Add two-digit and one-digit numbers with and without regrouping. Add two-digit numbers and record addition using a place value chart. Estimate sums and choose appropriate strategies to solve addition problems. Align place values correctly to solve addition problems. Add three two-digit numbers accurately.
