This course introduces students to the basic concepts of living organisms and their life processes. Students will learn that some kinds of organisms have completely disappeared, helping them understand the idea of extinction. The course also explains the identifiable stages in the life cycles of plants and animals, including growth, reproduction, and death. In addition, students will explore how organisms are able to grow and survive in many different habitats, gaining an appreciation of the diversity of life on Earth and the environments in which living things exist.
