This course provides an overview of essential language and reading skills that help students better understand and analyze modern texts. Throughout the course, students learn to identify elements of modern fairy tales and understand figurative language, as well as describe actions happening in the present and past continuous forms.

The course also focuses on developing questioning skills, expressing reasons and purposes, comparing things, and distinguishing between countable and uncountable nouns. In addition, students analyze stories in terms of conflict and resolution and identify the main theme.

Students will also explore poetic devices such as simile, metaphor, personification, imagery, and alliteration.

By the end of the course, students will be able to use English more confidently in both speaking and writing, while improving their critical thinking and comprehension skills.

What will i learn?

• By the end of the course, students will be able to:Identify features of a modern fairy tale and interpret figurative language. Describe actions happening now and around the present time (present continuous). Describe ongoing actions at a specific moment in the past (past continuous). Analyze modern adventure stories and explain cause and effect in plots. Form yes/no questions correctly. Ask for information using question words (who, what, where, when, why, how). Identify conflict and resolution in realistic fiction and recognize the theme of kindness. Use descriptive language to modify nouns. Compare and contrast two or more items. Identify poetic devices such as simile, metaphor, personification, imagery, and alliteration. Distinguish between countable and uncountable nouns. Express reasons and purposes using appropriate structures. Use indefinite language to refer to non-specific people, places, or things. Compare past habits with present routines. Make predictions and quick decisions about the future. Distinguish between predictions, decisions, plans, and evidence.
