This course provides students with a comprehensive set of language, reading, and analytical skills. Students will explore biographies, myths, historical fiction, poetry, and expository nonfiction to understand themes such as perseverance, courage, loyalty, power, time, and memory.
The course also develops grammar and communication skills, including expressing advice, obligation, necessity, regret, and making spontaneous or planned decisions. Students will learn to describe actions in the present and past, compare ideas, use affixes to change word meanings, and connect ideas effectively with conjunctions and sequence expressions.
By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently analyze different types of texts, understand deeper themes, and communicate their ideas clearly in English
